Question: Upgrade or Downgrade my 12W6's
Some of you guys will be familier with my system setup. Heres my problem.
I first started off with just one 12W6 and used a Kenwood KAC-PS301T bridged to power it, and it sounded really good. ![]() Now i have two 12W6's powered off the very same amp. ![]() Thing is, well its underpowered and i know that the amp cant produce the best bass from the two subs. I dont know wether to invest in another 301T to power each individual sub, or re-design the box for just one single 12W6 and be done with the other. Reason being, that the combination of the twin box and subs weighs really heavy therefore slowing down my ride, plus, theres no more room on the headlining to fit another amp ![]() I would then have to mount the new amp somewhere in the trunk, prolly in the same type of amp rack that ive used above. I want your opinions please

Just curious...those upside down amps...dont they get fried? I saw the fans but wow...heh.
Get a new amp. Those subs look like it'll hit pleanty hard.

You need to loose the ported enclosures, that will make any JL sub sound like shit. Call up JL, they will tell you to use a sealed box.

actually, JL will tell you to use either, as stated on their spec sheet. Its lists both box types dimensions and port length/dia. It really down to personal taste and the power you use as sealed require more power but give solid punchy bass.

its up to you. if you care more about the pickup of your car, then you should go with the lighter weight, if you like the sound, then get another amp, if you want the best of both worlds, then get a more powerful amp that, though it wont cut your weight too much, it'll be better than the two amps and subs. thats my two cents on it, so its up to you.
