Intergender competition

So guys, if you're in competition against a woman (or women) do you let them win once in awhile but make it look like they were able to beat you? Like in basketball, tennis or anything else? Now ladies, I know there are some talented atheletes out there who can hold their own but not at our day to day run of the mill weekend warrior sportspeople.

I have a hard time letting someone else win, but if it'll help make her happy, my fiance will "occasionally" win a game of horse. Much else wont fly since I'm eight inches taller and 110 pounds heavier.

Well, i figure that if you really love her, then you like to see her happy plain and simple. When it comes down to it, would you like to see the woman you love happy because she beat you at a game of horse or have the satisfaction of winning? I belevie that a balence must be struck and you are the one who must find that balance. (whew...now that i have writen a novel....good luck striking that balance )

Its been know to happen. Even with friends who just get too upset with losing. Take an early lead one big enough that u know u could have won and let the come from behind victory begin. Only problem is when the other person starts to brag then u just feel like an idiot

I think it's more fun to let her win. I mean, what guy wants to beat their girlfriend badly at a game?! What are you gonna do? Jump up and down and gloat in her face?! Just don't be too condescending about it and don't make it too obvious, put up some challenge.

It depends on what it is we are doing?
If it is a girl friend or wife then yep no worries. I will make it close so it looks like it, but heck at times I have not let them win and they still do! I like to keep it interesting though and a little competition is good for the sole

Well, myself and my boyfreind aren't into sports much at all.......but the other day he let beat him playing a hexen2 deathmatch

we get severly competitve when it comes to autocrosses and other car related things....we are pretty evenly matched drivers when in our own cars.....but we trade and try to out-do the other in that persons car....

Awe that is what I am talking about

In reply to your post videonasty, my last partner wanted to drive my car one day, just to drive it. She killed the motor 26 times trying to start out. She never drove a car with a paddle clutch before. If you slip it too much you will burn it up and at $1,000 for a new not a good idea. Not to mention the first time the car came up into full boost it lost all traction and proceeded to go sideways hahaha. You gotta love big turbos.

Barb and I were very competitive though with each other. As I said there were plenty of times when she would win, because that is what I wanted, but if she got too cocky I would deflat her ego a bit. I guess she did not like that too much as I would get the cold treatment for a while.

I just have to fight my competative nature and "occasionally" unobtrusively throw a game. I certainly dont want to be condecending, but it does help her keep coming back for another crack at me from time to time.

I am personally very competitive. Especially when I was really into soccer. I'd take on people I knew I'd lose to *lol*

As for people letting me win, or even vice verse, I just go by the moment. If I'm being allowed to come from behind, I'll take it if I really needed it.

Call me an arsehole but in this day and age of women wanting to be treated equal, you're gonna have to get yours. I won't budge. And if you lose, God help you!

I prefer to win without any help. It’s much more satisfying to know that you won by your own skill rather than someone feeling sorry for you and letting you win.

There’s really only one game that I get really pissed off in if I don’t win and that’s Monopoly. For some reason that game brings out the worst in me and for that reason people tend to let me win.

I can attest to this one! You should see FTOgirl and Moondog play Mario Karts !!!!!!!!! Talk about love/hate :smoker2:

FTO is way competitive. She whooped my arse in that game. Though I cant get her to play GT2 for some strange reason.
