So I went down to my local hobby shop yesterday looking to get a couple of colours of paint, a bit of masking tape and a few brushes, and of course I end up looking at the kits too
Walked out with a Fujimi Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole. Looks like it's a pretty good kit though. It's curbside which is a bit of a downer, but there are a HEAP of pieces in it, and the doors open too which will make for some pretty cool display options. Just wondering if anyone's built this before? This will be my first Fujimi build, and hopefully it'll go smoothly, but I'm just wondering if anyone out there has had any specific troubles with this kit? I'll probably start it in the next 2 weeks, so now's a good time to start asking about it |

Sorry to say it but none of my Fujimis have ever gone smoothly. Would be a great model though, Countach

How is the plastic for strength and quality? Nearly all of my Fujimi models had weak plastic that wasn't very good quality. The new Revell kits slaughter Fujimi in my opinion, I was so impressed when I opened up my `63 Impala
The decals alone are so nice! I nearly fell over when I read that the model was molded in China too! Last Chinese molded Revell I had was the `68 Firebird, very bad quality. |

I've got this kit as well, but have yet to build it. It looks like a decent kit and my sentiments are the same as yours.
I'll be keeping an eye out for your progress reports. Chris |

The more I look through it, the more I'm impressed with it actually. I've heard numerous horror stories about Fujimi, but this kit's dated as a 1989 kit, and it seems to be of a reasonable quality. I just hope it all fits together smoothly And I have to pick a colour combo too. I'm leaning towards white with a tan interior, but I'm open to sensible suggestions. |

That kit is (luckily for you) been conceived in the eighties, when fujimi still had the money for making superbly detailed kits.
basically they made this kit in normal (curbside ) and enthousiast model (very, very, very detailed) i have got the enthousiast model, but sofar what I can see, it is by far superior then any tamiya kit I ve ever seen. and I suppose the curbside kit will go together with no difficulties. As for the coluor combo, I like silver-tblack the most... Olivier |

I purchased some liquidated stock from a distributor and ended up with ten of these. I love this kit!
The wheels, tires, chassis and interior are awesome and straightforward to build. The stance of your finished model will be dead on IMO! As for the body, the only problems you may face is the NACA side ducts are a bit misshapen and should be sanded with the doors taped in place. This will assure the correct flow of the leading edges of the duct (both top and bottom). The second problem is when fitting the body to the chassis. Take care not to apply too much pressure to the front wheel arches as this area is the weakest point of the model when the fitting is being done. Too much pressure here will have a tendency to split the arch from bottom edge to the top of the fender. Better to over bend the chassis a little at this point than the body. Good luck with your kit! The kit is the "light" version of their Enthusiast kit, so it's actually very good. The only problem would be the alignment of the doors, but careful test fit will solve the problem easily.
It was when Fujimi still had those highly skilled and dedicated engineers, who made the Hi-Mecha and Enthu kits. Fujimi actually bought a used Countach, and disassembled it as much as possible to design the kit. Sadly, the team left Fujimi, because of an internal dispute and founded Rosso, but Rosso is gone now, because of too aggressive investment. And Fujimi still suffers from the loss of the car crazy engineers, which results in what we know about their kit today. Enjoy the model, and I hope someday you get their Enthusiast version to fully appreciate the heyday of Fujimi. |
