S10 2WD lifts?????????

I am trying to decide which way to go when lifting my 2wd S10 1992. My first choice was to go with a simple 2" lift with add-a-leafs and coils. This would make room for a 29" tire such as 235/75-15, or a 30x9.50-15. On top of that I wanted to ad a 2 inch body lift hoping I can get another inch of tire for 31x10.50-15. Of course I would need new shocks. But now I have a chance of getting a pair of 3" add-a-leafs and a pair of 2.5" bullseye lift spindles. Can I use the spindles with out new control arms? Thats really what I dont know. As you might be able to tell I am trying to keep this at a minimal cost. I know I could order a Fabtech 5"-6" suspension lift but I am not going to spend more than the truck is worth. I already need new wheels. Any opinions or set up descriptions you have would be great.

Look up a set of spindles from Chassis Tech. go to www.aimind.com and order a set. They are under $400 and they will lift the front of your truck 3inches. They are a quality part and are the cheapest and most effective way to lift the front of your truck. You should just put a lifted shackle out back, the add-a-leafs ride like a hay wagon.

Yeah they sell for $239. I just missed a set of lift spindles with add a leafs on ebay for $200. I just got 2.5" lift shackles that go on front of rear leafs. Now i will decide on the front.

I've never heard anything good about AIM or Chasis Tech. There customer support is also the pits. If you want a really good 2wd lift kit. Contact FabTech. http://www.fabtechmotorsports.com/ There kits are specifically designed for 2wd models.

I got 2.5" lift shackles for the front of rear leafs from CST (california super trucks) and I will probably be getting my 2" lift coils from suspension max next week. After that I will install a 2" body lift (performance accessories) from Summitracing.com (free shipping) and see if I like that. Then a set of Heckethorn shocks for the 2" lift. Rough Country has a 2" suspension lift for $290 with shocks (comes with add-a-leafs). The way I did it will cost about $225.







Fabtech prices are a little high for me compared to others I seen. Plus I have seen some rough riding trucks with fabtech springs.

Fabtech has some of the most overpriced junk on the market. I've seen guys break control arms and crack spindles out in the desert. You can get a better part from AIM. Thier service may suck but that is what keeps them cheap. If they hired a bunch of bull$hit artists for the service dept then they would have to jack up thier prices, like Fabtech.
If you want SERIOUS parts then look up www.weldtecdesigns.com ond get them to fabricate you a set of spindles and upper/lower control arms, along with shock towers for the coilovers and air bump stops.

It all comes down to how much money you wanna spend and what are you gonna use it for. If you're gonna mainly gonna drive it on the street then get the spindles. If you're off road 75% of the time running 75 mph through a plowed field, drop the $7,500 on the front suspension. Then buy the deaver 62" leafs for the back and make new shackles and perches.

If you simply put a lifted coil in your truck you will NEVER be able to align it.... You will eat front tires every three months and you will break a lower ball joint every other time you go hard off road. I speak from experience.
