WIP: Nismo 350Z

hallo!! good day to everyone.

This is my 1st post in here in 9 years. my last log in date was on July 2007 and my last thread was back in 04'. it have been too long since my last built kit. So i want to start up with a progress thread for my current built on the 350Z. as this is my 1st build in several years, the quality may not be on par with the standard here.. hehe.. please do comment on my mistake.

A quick mock on how the car should sit:

but i've started the work on the under-panel 1st (dont know why)

Its has been a busy week, but i manage to sand down the primer and re-scribing the panel lines..

after inspection, i noticed that the kit was supplied with 2 type spoiler. the Nismo and the normal small rear lip.
Nismo Spoiler

Normal Lip

now i get into a dilemma on which one i should use. right now I'm leaning towards the normal lip, where it doesn't interfere with the car body line.. hmmmmm.. lets just wait and see.

cheers!!

looks like you never took a break

i'd go for the ducktail, like what you said, it keeps the car's lines better.

I would paint both spoilers and attach them with tape. Like that you can swith them anytime. The RE 30's are a great choice. Though I would add a lip/dish to them. What color combo are you considering?

the trunk lip do looks a lot better.. but the huge spoiler looks sportier..

it would be great if i can find small enough nut & bolt for fixing the spoiler.. i think to attach the spoiler with tape would be messy.. hehe..

the RE30 most probably wont make it on the car, i'll be using the nismo 5 spoke rim.. but that one is also under consideration.

the car have been painted "polish Aluminium" last sunday, still waiting the paint to cure for another round of wet coat. the front lip, side skirt, rear diffuser and spoiler will be painted Gun metal. will update the picture later.

Re: WIP: Nismo 350Z

i'm thinking of using a system like this:

http://www.2pi.info/photographic/olyconn/

the spoiler has the male end and the trunk will have the female end embedded (and reinforced).

Re: WIP: Nismo 350Z

finally got some free time to update on the pic,

the current build have been sitting on the bench for a whole week without any update on it. . have been a busy week.

i try to replicate the burnt orange"persimmon" colour for the car seat, but it has turned out to be more gold than orange. most probably due to my mistake of not priming the seat in white.. my bad, so going to prime the seat in white 1st than try to give another coat of colour. the colour i mixing is tamiya acrylic orange + brown 9:1 ratio. hope the colour turn out better next time.

cheers.
