Those two prolly don't fall into the "ricey"(wish we could lose this word) category. They are serious and nicely done, the term is usually used for a bunch of cheesy add on's.

I think you have a wrong definition of "rice". I myself never use the word the word rice.

"Rice" History Lesson. :flash:

"Ricers" first was used to describe cars and owners that would pretend to have parts that they actually don't have. For example Advan, Nismo, Mugen, Greddy stickers all over the car when in fact they don't have any parts like that. Another huge example are Type-R stickers on Civic sedans and any other non-Type-R Hondas you can think of. Intercoolers without turbos, fake turbo blow-off sound devices, etc.

The word "ricers" was then warped by newcomers of the car scene to include such things as Altezza/Euro tail-lights, over-use of stickers, generally ugly bodykits, huge wings, neon under car lights, generally poor taste, etc.. This definition is currently the most widely used and adopted.

:smoka:

I personally don't think the 2 pics you posted are "ricey".

The thing is, body kits ARE completly uselesss,

they might look good, but are a waste of moeny, that could be spent into an engine, to actully make a car fast... not LOOK FAST...

Good point, But what if that person wants only looks no speed, will they be considered "Ricers" just 'cause they wanna look good and not go fast?
I dont think that is right. Plus why dont we all just let this subject die? This whole "Rice" thing is completely played off and a little old. In my opinion.

your wrong.... have u heard of a company called East Bear? they used FRP for there bodykits which makes it light and the bodykit iteself is actually functional! they have ducts that allows air flow to the brakes (which cools them off) and as well as the intercooler and other parts of the car. And you see those huge GT wings, well they are for downforce for FR cars.... so not only they look good... but they are there for a reason....

o yeah... this only implies to those Jap companies like C-west, DRFT, East Bear, Yashio Company, GP Sport

so yeah... Wings West, Erburnai (sp?), and others are totally shit
