Re: Jetta Starter Problems
Okay i am not a mechanic, but i would get a second opinion. I dont know how in the world a flywheel or a transmission could cause a starter problem??? go somewhere and try to get a free estimate. volkswagen told me that I had to replace my entire rear axle to fix "two rusted abs sensors" for 650 dollars! i laughed to myself, went home and I drilled out the old sensors and it cost me 40 bucks for two new sensors plus less than an hour of my time.. wow... so i wont go to volkswagen anymore unless i need a scan. I have had this same experience with another local repair place in my hometown... they tried to tell me i needed 2,000 dollars worth of repairs on my car. You must watch for high prices like this I swear some places just try to steal money. Both the flywheel and transmission are expensive to mess with or fix. So I would get a second opinion. This happened to my granpas car...
what i would try if i were you...
1. get second opinion
2. check relays and fuses (possibly incorrect current is overloading starter?)
3. Check for short (this is what i would guess it was)
4. new battery?
