Lightning and H-D Blown Fuel Pump Resistor Replacement

Like many H-D and Lightning owners my obsolete fuel pump resistor has checked out leaving my truck unable to run. AC Delco 88951182 fuel pump resistor is still available for their supercharged cars and physically it looks the same but I'm unable to determine if it's the same resistance. Has anyone looked into this and tried to use that resistor instead?

What is the original resistors ohms, so you can compare?

You sure you have the decimal in the right place, that reads less than one ohm.

Re: Lightning and H-D Blown Fuel Pump Resistor Replacement

That is the resistance value a few online sources have indicated. I will try to measure mine. The terminals rusted and the wires fell off, so I'll have to clean them up before putting a meter on it. It should have the spec'd resistance because the truck ran previously. When it didn't run a few days later I located the resistor, and the porcelain was broken on the top and the harness wire detached.

I measured mine and I get 1.0 ohm. Is my meter rounding up from 0.620 to 1.0? I don't know. If the GM resistor is way out of the ballpark, then there's no sense considering it.

The Ford resistor is 0.620 ohms and the GM measured 0.7ohms so I tried the GM resistor and the truck runs and idles.
