No Start/ Head Gasket Replacement

Okay guys so this is a difficult one to even explain so bear with me here I go 😆.

I got this car from my dad once he passed and before then we had a little trouble with it overheating a bit. Turn the heat on boom! Fixes it!! We changed the thermostat housing bc it was leaking thinking that may be it bc we was getting bubbles in our reservoir. It would come and go tho. Nothing that effectively caused anything in the moment. So months go on my dad passes in March. I have the car a few months after and it goes running hot again JUST LIKE BEFORE! TURN HEAT ON BLAST HEAT HAND LEVELS OUT!!! 🤷

I was driving home one day and on my dash where the mileage is it popped up HOTOIL! Then the car stalls I get over and it's SMOKE CITY ➡Under the hood at this point.⬅ Guy told me it was the water pump. The more I got into it the more I changed. (Water Pump, Valve Cover Gasket*I was told the head gasket was bad at one point I'll get there, Crank sensor, cam sensors, Alt,Plugs,Coils,Head Gasket kit im sure there is more I'm not thinking of)

Now once it stalled I couldn't get it to start just keep cranking and cranking and cranking. I was like huh timing maybe? Nah it was in time and was when I put the kit on it. So I did the whole head gasket kit replacement. It started!!!! Well I go driving thinking I've just completed this beast. Nope shuts down doing the same thing! Smoking, but now I could crank it crank it then boom it starts then the lightning bolt comes on and I lose 90% of my throttle. Everytime! So I decided to check my plugs clean em and what not bc of all the cranking. WATER!!! WATER!!! WATER!!! ON MY PLUGS!!! So stupid me got some head gasket sealer in a bottle put it in bc I was getting it started briefly to do this. After the first start up letting it get hot then shutt off to cool IVE NOT GOT IT STARTED SINCE! SO I LET IT SIT OVERNIGHT NOT HAVING ANY OPTIONS BC MY BATTERY WAS DEAD AT THIS POINT SO WAS MY BOOST BOX. NEXT DAY TURN KEY! THUD, THUD , THUD!! WTF!?!? I take plugs out, WATER, WATER, WATER! TRY TURNING MY FLYWHEEL STUCK!! TURN THE OPPOSITE WAY BREAKS FREE ONE TURN ALMOST THEN CATCHES AGAIN. I TURN THE OTHER WAT IT BREAKS FREE TILL ALMOST A FULL ROTATION THE OTHER WAT, VISE VERSA???

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE THIS THING OUT!! I HAVE ONE LEG AND BEEN WORKING ON THIS EVERY DAY FOR ALMOST A MONTH. IM MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY WORE DOWN. I DON'T HAVE MY DADS EXPERIENCE ANYMORE. ANYONE??

I PROBABLY DIDNT MAKE SENSE IN EXPLAINING THAT. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK. THANKS GUYS.

Re: No Start/ Head Gasket Replacement

Obviously water is getting into the cylinders, many things can cause this, cracked head, cracked block, no quick answer here. Pull the plugs and pressurize the cooling system with a pressure tester, see if coolant comes out of any of the plug openings. Sounds like it my be hydro locked, or something let go internally. All guesses from here.

Re: No Start/ Head Gasket Replacement

Thanks for the reply. I'll do the pressure test like you mention tomorrow. Any idea on why the flywheel is doing like it is. It turns one way almost a full turn then is tighter than a dicks hat band. Untill I rotate back the other way then catches again. Vise, VERSA.

Re: No Start/ Head Gasket Replacement

One cylinder, at least could be full of water, pull the plugs, see it can be rotated.
