Re: 2005 Grand hard start and random shut off while driving
Just got back from the auto shop... They charged me 250 which isn't too bad since I got an OEM part. Crossing my fingers hoping that fixes it...

Re: 2005 Grand hard start and random shut off while driving
Not true. The Article said that the switch would turn the car off and that 13 people died because the switch shutting off at the time before impact caused the failure of the air bags to deploy.
It's a faulty switch The switch turning off to accessory was exactly what the code read on my grand am. GM hasn't mentioned the 2005 Grand AM yet..but they will! |

Re: 2005 Grand hard start and random shut off while driving
They are saying that the amount of drag on the ignition switch was not sufficient to make sure it stayed in the on position. If people had a bunch of crap hanging on their key ring, the weight of it could cause the whole assembly to turn to the accessory position.

Re: 2005 Grand hard start and random shut off while driving
Then why are they recalling them? I had the exact problem with only 2 keys on my keychain, but anyway, the Grand Am isn't listed.

Is your key turning to accessory or off when it dies? I don't think so.....

Re: 2005 Grand hard start and random shut off while driving
It was turning to accessory which shut it off. All is well now (so far) with the GM switch they put in

Re: 2005 Grand hard start and random shut off while driving
After replacing the ignition switch I have't had shut off a single time yet after a couple of months. Looks like that corrected my problem.

Re: 2005 Grand hard start and random shut off while driving
Awesome! Same here with the recent switch. I'm sure you hear about GM and the huge recall of over a million cars due to faulty ignition switches and Air Bags failing to deploy? Not a mention of the Grand Am yet.

2005 Grand hard start and random shut off while driving
Driving Lessons in Sale – Learn to Drive with Confidence
Learning to drive is one of the most exciting milestones in life. For many people in Sale and surrounding areas, getting behind the wheel means more independence, freedom, and new opportunities. But with this excitement often comes nervousness too — choosing the right instructor and driving school can make all the difference. In this guide, we’ll explore everything you need to know about *driving lessons in Sale*, from what to expect as a learner, how to prepare for your driving test, and why finding a professional, experienced instructor is so important. If you are based in Sale, Timperley, Altrincham, or nearby, one of the most trusted local schools is [Pace Driving Tuition](https://pacedrivingtuition.co.uk/), known for its excellent pass rate and supportive teaching style. --- ## Why Driving Lessons in Sale Are Important Sale is a busy town with a mix of residential areas, bustling high streets, and nearby routes leading to Manchester city centre. Learning to drive here gives learners a realistic mix of road conditions, from quiet residential streets to more challenging dual carriageways. Having professional driving lessons ensures you: * Learn the rules of the road in a structured and safe way * Build confidence handling different traffic conditions * Practice on roads and junctions that are part of local test routes * Receive feedback from a qualified instructor who tailors lessons to your progress While it might be tempting to rely on friends or family for practice, only a DVSA-approved instructor can guide you through the full learning process and prepare you effectively for the driving test. --- ## What to Expect from Your First Driving Lesson in Sale Starting your first driving lesson can feel nerve-wracking, but knowing what to expect helps. Here’s a breakdown of a typical first lesson: ### 1. Meeting Your Instructor You’ll meet your instructor at an agreed location, usually your home or a convenient spot. They’ll explain how the lesson will run and check if you’ve had any previous driving experience. ### 2. Introduction to the Car Before you hit the road, you’ll get familiar with the car’s controls: * Steering wheel, pedals, and gear stick * Mirrors and indicators * Safety features like dual controls ### 3. Basic Driving Practice Most first lessons in Sale take place on quieter residential streets where traffic is minimal. You may practice moving off, stopping, clutch control, and steering. ### 4. Feedback and Next Steps At the end of the session, your instructor will give feedback and outline what you’ll learn in upcoming lessons. --- ## Choosing the Right Driving School in Sale Not all driving schools are the same. The instructor’s teaching style, experience, and flexibility can make a huge difference in how quickly you progress. When choosing a driving school in Sale, consider: * *Pass Rate*: Look for schools with a strong track record of first-time passes. * *DVSA-Approved Instructors*: Only fully qualified instructors should teach you. * *Lesson Flexibility*: Evening and weekend lessons are ideal for students or those working full-time. * *Pricing*: Affordable rates with block booking discounts can help you save money. * *Reviews*: Check testimonials and Google reviews to see what past learners say. One school that ticks all these boxes is [Pace Driving Tuition](https://pacedrivingtuition.co.uk/). With a 93% first-time pass rate and excellent 5-star reviews, it is a trusted choice for learners across Sale, Timperley, and Altrincham. --- ## Areas Covered by Driving Lessons in Sale Professional instructors in Sale usually cover multiple nearby locations. Some of the main areas include: * *Sale M33* – residential areas, busy town centre, and access to main roads * *Timperley WA15* – great for practicing a variety of junctions and roundabouts * *Altrincham WA14* – slightly busier traffic conditions, useful for advanced practice * *West Didsbury* – close to local driving test centres, ideal for mock tests Practicing in these areas ensures that learners are confident driving in different environments and fully prepared for their test day. --- ## The Client Centred Learning Approach Modern driving schools no longer use a “one size fits all” method. Instead, the best instructors use a *Client Centred Learning & Coaching* approach. This method focuses on the learner’s strengths, weaknesses, and preferred learning style. It means: * Building confidence step by step * Encouraging learners to ask questions * Correcting mistakes in a positive way * Making lessons enjoyable rather than stressful By the time learners take their test, they’re not just memorising routines — they genuinely understand how to drive safely and independently. --- ## Test Preparation in Sale Passing your driving test takes both knowledge and practice. Local instructors in Sale prepare learners for every part of the process. ### Theory Test Support Instructors provide guidance on revision apps, practice questions, and hazard perception videos to help you pass your theory test. ### Mock Driving Tests Before the real test, you’ll take mock tests under exam conditions. This helps reduce nerves and gives you a clear idea of what to expect. ### Local Test Centres Learners in Sale often take their practical test at: * *Sale Driving Test Centre* * *West Didsbury Test Centre* Practicing around these areas with your instructor gives you a huge advantage on test day. --- ## Cost of Driving Lessons in Sale The cost of driving lessons in Sale is competitive compared to other parts of Manchester. On average: * Standard lessons start from around £33 per hour * Block booking discounts reduce the overall cost * Intensive driving courses are available for those who want to learn quickly Pace Driving Tuition offers transparent pricing, flexible packages, and no hidden fees. --- ## Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Driving Lessons 1. *Practice Regularly* – Consistency helps build confidence faster. 2. *Stay Calm* – Mistakes are part of learning; don’t let them knock your confidence. 3. *Ask Questions* – The more you understand, the quicker you’ll progress. 4. *Take Notes* – Write down feedback after lessons to review before your next session. 5. *Combine with Private Practice* – If possible, practice with a family member or friend (with the right insurance and supervision). --- ## Why Choose Pace Driving Tuition in Sale There are many driving schools in the area, but [Pace Driving Tuition](https://pacedrivingtuition.co.uk/) stands out for several reasons: * 93% first-time pass rate (well above national average) * Fully qualified DVSA-approved instructor * Affordable pricing from £33 per hour with discounts * Flexible lesson times including evenings and weekends * Modern, dual-controlled vehicle for safe learning * 5-star reviews from satisfied learners Whether you are a complete beginner or someone looking to brush up on skills, Pace provides the perfect balance of professionalism and patience. --- Final Thoughts Learning to drive is more than just passing a test — it’s about gaining skills and confidence for life. With the right instructor, tailored lessons, and consistent practice, you’ll be on the road to independence in no time. If you’re searching for reliable *driving lessons in Sale*, choosing a school with a strong reputation and proven results is key. That’s why many learners in Sale, Timperley, and Altrincham turn to [Pace Driving Tuition](https://pacedrivingtuition.co.uk/) for expert guidance and support.
