Hi,
Small update this time.
After removing al the sections from the inside of the body the whole thing was quit flexible.
I was already expecting that because the body thickness is max 1 mm or less due to the sanding in between and after.
This is the point were Scratchbuilt was worried about.
The make the body less flexible i decided to coat the inside of the body with a thin layer of fibreglass.
The fiberglass i'm using has a weight of 80gr/m2 and has a thickness of 0,12 mm.
This means that the overall thickness of the body mostly remains at around 1 mm.
To prepare the body i taped the whole outside from it with paper masking tape to prevent that the polyester resin will run through small gaps or alond the edge of the body.
After that i used small pieces of fiberglass to coat the inside.
After everything was dry i trimmed all the shapes from the windows alsmost to the correct dimensions.
And seen from the inside:
The stiffnes of the body increased so much that i'm happy with the result.
That's it for today .
