No Sedans by Ford

I don't know if Ford plans to end production of its last family sedan (Fusion) anytime soon. I know they announced that they would only produce trucks, SUVs, and Mustangs about one or two years ago.

I don't plan on purchasing an SUV or Truck at any time in the future. I presently have a Ford minvan and would probably replace it with another minvan or equivalent. I like the versatility (to haul things or people) and capacity (compared to an SUV) of a minivan, rather these other options. If I don't buy a minvan, then it will be a sedan.

I have only owned two Ford products over the past ~35 yrs, the minivan (Windstar) and a Mercury Lynx. My dad had an LTD, a Galaxy 500, and a Falcon wagon.

The way I see it, although I prefer American brands for lower purchase cost, availability and cost of repair parts, I am foreseeing a future where I can't purchase an American brand that will meet my needs.

I'm also not convinced on the real practicality of hybrid and/or full electric models. I don't need to add hours (real times, not best case) to my road trips for the refuelling stops. Maybe magic will happen and the world will figure out how to "pump" the electrical equivalent of 20 gasoline gallons (726 mega-Joules or 200 kW-hr) in 15 minutes to 30 vehicles at the same refuelling station at a time.

Does anyone have any view of where Ford is headed with new vehicles in the future?
