hmmmm... wonder what the Willy's, CJ, TJ, etc guys would say about that?
As for the rest...
All the Cherokees I've seen tend to have a heck of a lot of rust so I'm not so sure about that aspect of their durability.
The Cherokee's styling is very out-dated, granted, style is a personal preferance and there will always be disagreement there.
but 'Puked up'?? The PT cruiser was puked up. The Aztec was puked up.
As someone who is over 6' tall, I've never found the Cherokee to be comfortable - especially the back seat. Liberty has got way more head room.
I go off roading with TJs and YJs ... haven't had a problem yet.
And besides, why would anyone complain about a Jeep made with Mercedes engineering? The engine (Mercedes redsign of the 4.7l V8 from the Grand C) is rock solid. Frame and body are tight.
Listen... if you are a true Jeep guy then you should have the right Jeep attitude. If it's a Jeep, then appreciate it for what it is. I'd stop to help you out on the side of the road before I'd help a Ford Explorer or Mazda Tribute or some other grocery getter.
