we're all glad you're wrong!
the ZZII is not the garaiya and vice-versa
The ASL garaiya is a lightweight 2 seat Mid-Rwd aimed to compete with the lotus elise
Similar to the ZZII, it is Nissan powered, the garaiya packs an sr20ve (no turbo) so about 150 kW (not sure but like 210hp)
imagine packing an s15 sr20det in there sounds like fun
Garaiya is gonna cost $40-50k US, but i think it's going to england and Japan only... is it worth $10k more than a Lotus Elise??
they have a race version called the Gt300 Arta Garaiya
it's going to cost 20 million yen ($170K US) so nobody is really going to own one
carbon fiber all around, turbo charged!! scissor doors!! looks great
I saw it first in Super Street when they went to the Tokyo Autoshow
I was convinced it was a Lotus Elise
but the Super Autobacs painted on the hood
clearly meant this was going to be their new car of choice for the 2003 season
I'll give ya some credit though,
on one website, they called the car
the Autobacs Garaiya Rs-01
but that's just confusing
anyway we've established the ZZII is now called the Autobacs Rs-01
but nobody ever carried over the name
Tommy Kaira obviously doesnt make it anymore,so why ask for their site?
Don't let that picture fool you, there are definitely TWO (2) seats!
and here ya go, 9 quality pictures of the ZZII
http://www.fast-autos.net/tommykaira/zztwopics.html
the e-brake is engaged, so it's looks farther away
but it's still within arm's reach
duh where else would it be?
go here to see the Rs-01, and you can download a short movie of the
car going like 180 mph
of course it's all in japanese, but if you click on car info again, the pictures are proof
there are 3 separate cars
check out the performance numbers of th ZZII
the first is obviously top speed, which is 300kph
the second number is a 2.18, i wish that was the 0-100kph time!!! (anyone who can read japanese, correct me please)
(but on another site i saw the time was 3.3 seconds, which seems more feasible)
insane fast
Okay, so i've seen for this car for
200,000 AUd
http://www.importdriver.com.au/News7.htm
or
60,000 pounds
but the LHD still confuses me!!!
I guess it's coming to America, and for $100K it's not a bad deal compared to it's rivals, the ferrari f50 and the mclaren f1
hope that clears some things up
