I've done a lot of testing on this and xtension is right, when you go over 15" on the wheels you will loose a lot on the performance side (longer braking distances, slow acceleration, etc). While cornering the car will be stiffer but not saffer, the tire wall will not bend and it will not absorb any irregularities while conering, this means that it will slide instead.

OK so when stock 15" rims will get you a 0-100Kmh in 7.3 sec
how much will it roughly be when you have 16" rims?
