The best explanation for crank walk so far is from the guys a Magnus. Its the 2G oil squirters that cause the walk. They take oil from the main bearing journal and are supposed to be closed at idle, yet sometimes they get stuck open, blah blah low oil pressure, crank shaft eats CAS and engine dies.
Doing the 6-bolt swap is cake and in my opinion much better than having the 2G oil squirters removed. Plus like Venger10 said, you get the big rods and low compression. Equals much more fun.
You can get an B-shaft eliminator kit from just about any DSM vendor. buschur, RRE, turbotrix, DSS, diamon star motors. Just check around.
My 6-bolt swap cost about $1300
B-shaft eliminator kits cost $60, but if you are going to install one you might as well do a motor swap, thats how hard it is to install them with the motor in the car, especially on 2G's. Plus they won't prevent crankwalk.
Peace
