When I ran 275/40-17 G-Force KD's I always had them at 28 PSI - never more. You run them at 32 PSI and you will start wearing out the center of the tread.
Taking your PSI down at the track will actually help heat your tires up quicker and increase the amount of tire surface in contact with the track. I never went lower than 22 PSI with my G-Force at the track.
Finally, what transmission do you have - A4 or M6? Good quarter mile runs are all in the launch and 60ft times. See what works best.
And by the way, its also a good idea to let your car rest in between runs. The first time I ever went to the track I drove nearly 2 hours on the freeway to London, Ontario - on one of the hottest days of the summer - then went straight to the gates and did 5 runs in a row. My times: 13.8, 13.9, 14.0, 14.0, 14.1. If you really want to be hardcore, keep the motor off all the way through the lineup gates and push the car until its your turn to head out of the gate.
