I want a nice deep sound, not some hi-pitched whine. I don't want it so loud that I turn every head I drive by, but just enough to have a nice hum.
Do the tips just make that annoying sound?
(~$30 vs. ~$300?)

P.S. - cheap alternatives to buying new taillights? (spray orange to red, smoke spray, ?)
