on car radios there is usually multiple wires giving it power.
1 negative wire
1 Positive Accesory wire (gives 12 volts + only when the car is started)
1 Memory Wire (constantly gives 12 volts + for the memory of the radio)
and sometimes a wire for the dimmer (gives 12 volts + when the headlights are turned on.)

if you recently had a new stereo put in, or had service done to the car around the radio, the mechanic/installer may have accidently changed the memory wire to a accessory wire, making the memory wire lose it's power when the car is turned off, causing ur problem.
