what's a female kit and a male kit?

Female kit arrangement means that where the wheels slot onto the brake disk, there is no pin attached to the wheels. It is a typical design of Fujimi and Aoshima kits as they tend to attach wheels to metal axles. Tamiya kits have the pins moulded onto the wheels and they slot into the brake disks (the only exception that come to mind are the Subaru Impreza road going kit and the Nissan 240Z kits).
