HICAS can be quirky becuase it ever-so-slightly adjusts the geometry of the rear suspension while driving to acheive a bit more turn in, its very similar to the Prelude 4-wheel steering (so I heard).
I dont like using the term DRIFTING becuase most on this forum DONT drift, but I will say that at-the-limit driving the car can become more quirky. Many people chose to DISABLE the HICAS and lock the rear suspension so that it doesnt move. Of course, the HICAS does weigh more. But one benefit is that the steering rack is different.. and uses a tighter rack (or steering column, I cant remember).
Man, I wish more people asked GOOD questions like this on the forum.. your post shows true interest in the car.
