Sega CD was like the only CD system, and no one bought it, instead they stuck to cartridge Nintendo systems. Now everything is CD (or DVD, but still disc) based. Sega came out with the first 128 bit system, and no one liked it. Then came the PS2, and everyone got it.

it's so true.... i think Sega was the best video game company in the world, but nobody got it for some reason... i think they just had bad marketing (main reason)
but they did have a couple systems that were popular like the Sega Genesis, everybody had that

i also had a game gear when it came out... now i have a Dreamcast and a PS2, and you know what? PS2 isn't that much better, on a scale of 1-10, i would give dreamcast a 9 and the PS2 a 9.5
There haven't been any games for PS2 that have really BLOWN AWAY the dreamcast, there are so many racing games for DC too, and they have all the good RPGs like Shenmue. NFL2K1 for Dreamcast is the best football game still and i play it all the time against other people around the world.
Dreamcast was the first 128-bit system also the first system with a built-in modem so that you can have multi-player games on your dreamcast, suprisingly NO LAG!! (most of the time)
also i read that dreamcast only uses like 60% of it's potential system power

that means it could have games that are WAY better than PS2.... but since they stopped making them cause of some bullshit goin on in Sega, they didn't move to the stage of the really advanced games.
btw, Tennis 2K2 for dreamcast......... most fun game EVER!!
