I got the Escort rims to fit my car! The bolt pattern was fine, only problem was the centerbore. There's a little rim about 3/8 of an inch tall that sticks out of the hub. It almost fit without alteration, but not quite. That not quite meant that the wheels didn't actually butt up against the hubs, so they could move around whenever I drove.
I can't stand ANY vibration, and after having the bullshit guy at Discount Tire try to sell me some new rims, I fixed the problem.
It was easy! I got two packages of these sanding wheels, kind of shaped like little drums on a bit. I got 3 of 'em in one package for $3.99 at Walmart. I bought two packages, and used four of the six bits. You get three different grains of sandpaper on these little drums.
I stuck the bit in my drill, and slowly worked my way around and around the inside of the rim on the centerbore until I'd removed enough aluminum for them to fit perfectly. It took about 2 hours and made my back sore, but it was worth it to make things fit right and not have to buy other rims.
