Cool Converted my friend's Civic to 5 speed for $100

My friend with an automatic 95 Civic DX 4 door blew his trans after many months of vicious abuse lol. He had no reverse, and the car acted like it was in "1" when he was in neutral. so, it was fucked. He had no money....and so we decided on converting his car to stick while we had the chance. The badass thing about this conversion was that we didn't use any 5G Civic parts for this conversion. This was accomplished using soley 90 crx si parts and a couple 86-89 integra parts. I had a 90 crx si transmission, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, shift linkage, shifter, mounts, and clutch cable off of the 90 crx si in my garage. i wasn't using any of this stuff anyways...and this would be his payment for his labor on my car tranfer. We started a couple weeks ago at 3AM sunday morning and worked until 6:00PM sunday afternoon straight. Needless to say this was a bitch, because we weren't using the right parts, but we can say we accomplished a great thing Monster Garage style. This is the only cable 5G that i know of with an L3 Si trans. His car is also using a d16a6 head from my 90 crx si too. We needed to buy the following:
1.Pedal tree from a 1G CRX (didn't work)
2.Pedal tree from a 86-89 integra (made it work)
3.86-89 integra shift linkage
4.Turnbuckle for extra motor support in the front
5.Metal (tried to make his own clutch pedal lol)
All of that came to about $100...since he got all of the other stuff from me for free. We used the crx si trans mount (made it work)...made a custom rear engine mount...and are using a heavy duty turnbuckle for a front engine mount. Surprisingly it doesn't sit too crooked. We had to cut a lot of holes to get the pedal tree to fit and a hole for the clutch cable. The only problem currently is that the wiper motor got in the way of the top of the clutch pedal and the clutch cable...so he doesn't have any wipers currently. We're working on a way to modify that right now. I will get picks of his setup soon. Now he finally has his dream of having a stickshift car for $100...and OMG sooo many hours of frustration. We're very proud of this (since everyone didn't believe that it would work). Just thought i'd share this crazy project with you all...and pics are soon to come
