It's a straight through resonated pipe that pack fiberglass strands around the main pipe to muffle sound/pressure waves. Stay away from the if they contain a louvered core. Meanig if you look down the pipe and see little 'vents' stickin up don't get it. Or get it sized so that, taking the louvers into account, the inner diameter is still the same size. Meaning if you're building a 2.25" exhaust you might need a 2.5" or even a 2.75" resonator.
