I had my tires replaced on my 2001 330i sport package. In the process they dammaged (in my opinion) all four rims by gouging the outside edge of the rim and scraping large sections of the finish off around the outside edge of the rim. I have complained vehemently and they have admitted the gougeing is damage, but they claim the scraping of the finish on the edge of the rim is to be expected when replacing low profile tires like I have.
I took my car to my BMW service center for the exact reason that I did not want this to happen, I assumed that they would have the most experience with their own rims and would not damage them. The service manager meticulously examined the rims when I dropped it off the check for damage before they started work on it, and the rims were pristine at this point.
Anyone else think this is complete BS. I love my car, but if this is how I am going to be treated I'm not sure I can buy another BMW.
