I don't think that it is too early, I've read on the org where one guy changes his plugs religiously every 30k. Don't wait til 60k, I did that and my plugs were totally fried. It's just like that so called 100, 000 plug that you don't change until then, I don't buy it, I recommend changing before 60k especially if you are tough on your car or drive more frequently than usual.
