so you want to paint ehhh
well you have to clean it that is the first step, since you are dealing with meatal i would highly recamend a fine steel wool or a dremel. after you clean it hit it with some paint thiner and then wash it off or clean it off.
then you must primer, i would use a rustoleum metal primer, and then you can paint, usualy do 2-3 coats at least and then clear coat to protect the shiat
