If you already have this opinion or attitude about NY, WHY MOVE HERE? You probably live in a remote location which doesn't attract any tourism, not even a small amount. They're the real cause of all the mess in the city in the first place. They don't respect anything when they pay us a visit, maybe partly our fault, because we are nice enough to make them feel at HOME.
As far as your inquiry, your car will be stolen if its meant to be, not because of your location. In fact car thieves, in my own opinion, actually prefer remote locations rather than urban, because less likely of being seen and getting caught.
I'm no car thief, but if I know who you are and where you're moving to, I'll jack your car just for your opening remark.
