I'm not really sure about a sportamatic in a 1982...I would really try the Pelican Parts BBS...a lot more people that are hugely knowledgable.
Only other comments I have is 5K sounds a bit low (byy US standards), I'd be a bit suspicious. It has rust...the rule of thumb is where there is a little, there's a lot more. When I bought mine, it cost about $2K to fix rust and respray...expect more. Other things to look for are the carrera chain tensioner upgrades (look for oil lines going to chain covers below and left and right of the alternator), pop-off valve in the airbox, etc. Also, you might want to find out what it will cost to upgrade to import it to the US if it's not a US model (can check the VIN to find out).
Once again, I would really check the other BBS. They should also have a pre-purchase inspection checklist you can print out. Fascinating BBS, check it out.
