I don't think that this trend is due to any hidden sexual or racist discriminations directly. I think it has more to due with socioeconomics... To run for president one needs a lot of money and generally male WASPS generally tend to have more economic funds than most other groups within America. One could then argue that these socioeconomic trends are a direct result of these hidden discriminations within America but I for one think that we are making some progress. I predict in the near future, these socioeconomic trends will disappear (hopefully) and we will see a lot more diversity in presidential candidates and hopefully presidents as well.
