yes, definitely. checking it out would be a good idea. the fact that the buzz comes and goes screams loose wire somewhere. It never hurts to get in there and check it out, that way you can fix the loose ones, and re-secure anything else while you've got everything apart. Because even coming and going, when the buzz comes during your favorite song, it sucks.

what I've found to be a great back up to those handy dandy wire connectors is hot glue. I know, I know sounds crazy but, it can be remove with your finger nail if need be, and it really holds wires, as well as insulates them, very well.
