Indy is a 2.5L Turbocharged V8 Engine I think, and they use manual transmissions.
F1 is a 3.0L Naturally Aspirated Engine with semi-automatic shifters.

As well, F1 is much bigger in both North American & Worldwide than Indy, thus, the cars are much more advanced.
i thought that engines varied form car to car
