since i've only put 4k miles on the mtr's i cannot notice the wear yet, and the noise is more of a rrrrrrrrrrrrrr at speeds under 25mph, i have my windows up most the time with the air on, at hwy speeds i really cannot hear any road noise but whatever you do make sure you get these tires balanced correctly and from what I was told never put "equal" into these tires for whatever reason (I think that's the name of the product) supposedly truckers use it in there tires and it's starting to carry over into other vehicles. and boy do these tires spit mud,, the side lugs are awesome at self-cleaning by the way.
