Why Risk Injury?
Autozone's loan-a-tool program has spring compressors. You pay for the tool when you leave the store. If you return it within 3 months, they give you your money back. No Autozone? Just buy the tool...30 bucks.
If you want further motivation, picture the strut bearing shooting off and hitting you in the jaw (or btwn the legs) with 300+ lbs of force...
If you haven't already, you might want to invest in some jackstands and a good floorjack, too.
