if you try to take the stock spring off just normally then you might have some injuries. But what I do is take the strut assembily off of the car and get 2 tires and put you allen wrench in the middle of 12 mm nut on the top. wedge the whole assembly inbetween the tires and take it off slowly. wait for the spring to come flying off. If you have done it right it all should stay right inbetween the 2 tires. It is still very dangerous like this but the safe way is to use a compressor.
