what happens when you drift is your back wheels (the ones that receive the power) aren't gripping the road and hence are spinning, which is why your car is able to slide sideways. if the wheels WERE gripping normally, the car would just shoot forward and wouldn't drift at all. in an FWD car, since the power goes to the front wheels, when it throws the ass out on a corner, all the back wheels are doing is just dragging along. the front wheels have all the power, and aren't spinning, so there-fore it's not a real drift, the ass of the car is just being dragged along. hence why we call it ass-dragging. not real drifting at all.
