Buenos Dias. Comment êtes-vous? First of all, Sorry about my abscence. I know I was supposed to be here to keep order and everything. But two things: I kinda got tired of all the close-minedness. This is JDM, this isn't. This is Rice, That isn't. I couldn't stand that anymore. Two, I needed some time to get my life in order. But sparqy told me you missed me so I'm back.
Unfortunately, I don't come bearing good news. A few weeks ago, I was heading north up I95 going to a friends house with 3 other guys in the car. As we came up over a bridge, I saw something in the road and I swerved to the left. I started skidding and I slightly corrected to the right and the car somehow SHOT to the right and I tried to correct it but I smashed into the gaurdrail in the front, the car did a 180 and the rear end smashed into the guardrail as well and did another 180 and we ended up facing the way we started. I was able to drive the car home but it's fucked. I have pictures below.
There were no injuries when it happened, but later that night, a friend who was in the passenger seat and wasn't wearing his seat belt had to be rushed to the hospital because he lost feeling on the right side of his body and had severe pain and paralysis in his muscles. He went thru physical therapy to be able to walk again and he's been released. The bills are expected to be well in excess of $10,000. Noone's ever riding with me again if they don't wear a seat belt. That's a lesson for you kids.
The insurance company freaked and told me I had no chance of keeping the car. But I had an adjuster come out and look at the car and because the car is so low, instead of hitting the gaurdrail, it actually slid under it and hit the post behind it. So there was no frame damage, just alot of external damage. So the adjuster actually let me keep the car without calling it a total loss. He cut me a check for the maximum he could without totalling it. I got the pictures taken this afternoon. Sorry they're kinda big. Here's what the car looked like a year ago:
And here's what it looks like now:
I know this news comes at a rough time with what happened to Aunie and everything. My condolensces about her BTW. But my situation isn't that bad. I got a pimp car to drive around in the meantime. It's a 1985 Plymouth Horizon:
And if all my plans come together correctly, I'm gonna debut the new and improved Bubble-Jet at the Spring Break Nationals in Daytona at the end of March. The plans include:
Wide Body conversion
Peugeot 206 Headlight AND taillight conversion
Monster Hood and fiberglass fenders all molded to the front bumper and have it all flip out in one big piece to access the engine bay
Re-shave the tailgate
relocated license plate to the buddy club rear bumper
Dual Exhuast
New paint of course.
I'll post some pictures after Daytona if I make it.
