1. There are plenty of places you can look to see what does what... You just have to look. If your stuck I can come up with some directions to point you in ( I dont know mutch about B18A1's except people keep blowing them up with VTEC heads)

Getting verry in depth on Q#2 so you better fuckin read ALL of this.

2. (CR is key for Compression Ratio) Well to increase the CR you can do a lot of things. First of all the length in which the piston travels can Lower OR Highten the CR, the longer the piston moves (Stroke) the higher the CR will be (Untill of course it hits the valves <---- BAD)the longer the piston moves the higher the low/mid HP and TQ... It also meens you dont make crap @ higher RPM's because the piston cant move as fast. The shorter the distance the piston moves the lower the CR because it doesent compress as much air and gas due to it not traveling as far. Now you will get more HP @ higher RPM's and even (With balancing) get more RPM's with shorter rods (RODS are what connects the piston to the crankshaft... You prolly knew that but just in case ) However you will hurt @ low end power and TQ (TQ is key for torque) with shorter rods, UNLESS you use higher CR pistons!!! Higher CR pistons work in many MANY different ways as well as low CR pistons but to give you a an idea or two, a flat piston top will have a low CR... A dish piston top will have a VERRY low CR... A dome shaped piston will have a high CR and a "Roller Wave" piston will have a VERRY high CR. The roller wave pistons: (Here is a pic for you) Has a higher CR because it has more surface area for the fuel to burn on. Also note the area's which sit under the intake/exaust valves, see how its "Dished out" only in those area's? Thats to creat better flow and "Suck" in more fuel/air.... Now onto headwork! Headwork is an AWSOME way to raise/lower CR that is often overlooked! If you shave the head 1/8mm it will reward you with a substanital CR boost! (Not recomended with longer/normal rods) if you want to make it a low revving monster you add metal to the head/block... I sopose you could shave the top of the block as well, but I never heard of anyone doin it so it leads me to believe there is a reason for that head gaskets can raise/lower CR.... Im sure theres more you could do to rasie/lower CR but I think I have done my part...

3. A bored out TB (Trotle Body) will allow more air into the IM (Intake Manifold) Now when you have a high CR and want to utilize all of it you get a bigger TB and a higher flowing IM with bigger injectors so you can get more fuel/air into the cylinder that the better "Flowing" pistons ask for... Same thing with FI (Forced Induction AKA turbo/nos/supercharger) you want to have better flow so it will move air/fuel into the cylinder faster... :bandit:
