If you have the $ I would say get a b20 block , build the bottom end and put a GSR head on it. Also get a integra LS manual tranny. Then get a turbo and boost away. I think your civic would be insanely fast. You could really shock some ppl if you keep it stock looking on the outside!
If a budget is in order than maybe a b16a you can pick them up for a pretty fair price if you look hard enough.
I don't know alot about the auto trannies that is why i said to get the LS manual tranny. I know they are hella strong and they have a tall gear ratio which will prove useful when high hp is reached.
