Ok, people want to think its about oil (even though we had the perfect chance to "take over" Iraq before), fine. The ONLY link between al-quada and Iraq was the video tape of that meeting between the al-quada and the Iraq Intelligence officer. Other than that, the issue really wasn't pressed.
Iraq played a propoganda game (saying the UN inspectors were spies, etc) to get them kicked out. Bush got them back in and this threat of invasion is what is needed to keep them on the straight and narrow. They know what happened last time they called our bluff. But hey, we all believe what we want to believe.
But this crap about some "crusade" against Muslims is really stretching it. It is not a war against Muslims otherwise we would simply kick Saudis ass, take complete control of thier oil, use thier land as a foothold against the rest of the Middle East. Or something like that anyhow.
Plus, when we started to attack the al-quada/taliban last year there was a rash of hatred running through the US targeted at people of Muslim faith and Arabic descent. Bush made a speach at a Mosque (sp?) telling the American people to cease it. Eventually it did. These actions don't seem to be that of someone who is "calling for the Crusades 2000".
