Yeah I understand that. Have you consider this? I'll just paste all of what Viper 10 wrote.

This is what separates the posers from the racers... an independent 4-link rear assembly with quick change gears.






I should note that this rearend assembly was not solely designed for drag racing (as the title of this thread states). It is really designed for racing applications, and will withstand some serious HP and torque. It can be easily used for drag racing, without going to a solid rear axle.

A solid rear axle with traction bars is totally impractical for street use.
