Re: Opel (Vauxall) Kadett V8 GTR 1:10 scratch build

Hello all, I'm sorry, i was a bit lazy to keep my updates going so i'm far behind on automotives with my recent works.

So i will start were i left of.

I was busy with the section which will be in front of the frontwindow.
This will also be the attachment for the door hinges but in order to make them i
had to make some new doors.
The existing parts which i made are to much disformed so i can't use them anymore.

To make the new doors i used one of the section plates that was on the spot of
the doors.

With the small part i made a few equal parts to make a sort of bridge on which i can bend and glue the door.

It is made of 0,3mm styreen sheet and after drying it was cut of the ground plate with a scalpel.

The hinges are made from styrene tube , the hinges on the chassis will be made from brass staff and styrene parts.

And believe me before the hinges were on the right spot (when doors are actual horizontal) i had to move them at least 5 times.

The spot were the door handles will come are cut out and a small piece of styrene was glued at the back.
The front was smoothend with some tamiya putty.

The inner panels from the doors are now glued on (later in this build they will be opened up a lot more as they are now).

Below a test fitting of the doors.

On moments i didn't had so much time to build i added some details to the engine.
Here i installed the timing belt and the pulley for the alternator.

Now the hinges were ready i could paint the part, first with white primer.

And when dry the yellow color.

And since i was already busy with painting parts i als paint brushed the roll cage wich wasn't easy to cover all tubes but it worked out fine.

On the sides were the doors are the top of the tubes are covered with a black anti-skid paint.

The front spoiler was also painted yellow...

The air splitter was painted black but i don't have a picture from it, i will show it in a later update.

Before i could install the engine onto the chassis i still had to add some details like the injectors and some 12V wiring.

And then it was time to install the engine to onto the chassis, that didn't go very well.

In order to get it in i first had to remove the engine brackets from the chassis first.

But it is in and it looks good.

Now i could also add the brake fluid reservoir on the left side of the chassis next to the engine.

Next some scratch work again, i made the steering rack which will be underneath the chassis directly in front of the engine.
I forgot to make pictures from the build proces, but its mostly styrene tube and some brass wire.

From the black rubbers u see in the above picture i do have some build pictures.

They were made from som small styrene discs put into my drill and shaped them with a sharp knife.

And below here it had to fit...

I added a small lip and a pen in order to make it fit nicely..

As you can see the K&N oilfilter was also installed and connected with the oil lines as well as the steering rack.

Last part of this update is the coolwater hose which runs from the reservoir towards the inlet manifold.

Its a clear tube with a brass wire inside to shape it.

And here painted bright blue an ready..

That's it for this update , thx for watching.

Everybody a happy new year and the best whishes.
