Hi all, time for the next update.
I have been busy with the front section of the body, lots of pictures so lets start.
The width of the body is created with large fenders on each side.
I made a cardbord template because they are not only round but also angled down from body side to the outside.
Closed the outside also.....
From styrene 0,3 and 0,5 thickness cut some strips which i can put around the template.
First the 0,3 mm part taped on the template:
The outside covered with glue and put the 0,5mm part over it hold in place with yellow tape.
After the glue was dry this is wat it looks now.
The extended part sytrene on the right/above side from the pecil line is necessary to make the fender fit to the round side of the body.
This was part 1 of the fenders now they will need to be installed.
For that i took a A4 paper sheet and put all the measurements from the car on it.
The width of the total body including fenders at the front will be 198 mm.
I taped the fenders on the paper at the correct size.
The next photo shows how much wider the body will be compared to the original vauxall body.
To make the fenders fit to the body i used a dremel and sandpaper on a spraycan to make the round opening.
Test fit on the fenders:
With super glue and flower i glued the fenders to the body
underside:
The "to much material" cut away with a small saw:
After this i removed the grill from the body and made a new edge on the bottom from styrene.
Last part, the fenders also needed an edge/strip on the outer side, cut with a circle cutter...
Next update i will continue with the grill..
