Re: Thermostat access - 1997 Sebring 2.5L
Afternoon everyone.
Its been in the high 30s and low 40s everyday for the past couple of weeks here in Kamloops, British Columbia so I have been riding my 25 year old Kawa Drifter to work everyday instead of taking a chance of my car overheating.
Mine is a 1997 Sebring convertible with the 2.5L engine.
I replaced the thermostat and the radiator cap, flushed the radiator using a chemical descaler and filled my radiator with fresh coolant.
Car still overheats. I noticed that when it overheats that the coolant leaks out of the overflow tank, that the coolant is rusty looking and that the coolant does not appear to flow from the overflow tank to the radiator.
When it idles it takes about 15 minutes to overheat but when I was flushing out my radiator, that my car did not overheat.
What am I missing, please?
Thank you for any advice.
