I'd stay with the Trac II fluid.
I was going to ask how your New Venture trans case is doing during the most recent thread but I forget things.
My Jeep Grand Cherokee requires a special power steering fluid and even though I can save several dollars with an allegedly ok alternative, I'm staying with the stock stuff.
With a drop in power, I replaced the fuel filter on my Bravada this afternoon, and stink like gasoline to prove it
