Yeah, I'd never open a shop to do performance/custom work. The real money is in service and maintenance for normal people/cars. About the only nuts I ever run across who want custom, no expense spared work around here are Land Cruiser guys.... We just finished rebuilding an older Land Cruiser motor for a guy. He spent 10k without blinking.
Air-conditioning work is also extremely profitable here in Texas. I've already got 20 hours of a/c work lined up for Monday
