Hood / Cowl Noises

As part of getting the ride quiet, I needed to address some body noise around the cowl. I had inspected the hood hinges previously since that is apparently a common source of noise. The hinge pins/pivots are as tight as a 17 year old nun, so that eliminated one possibility. Inspection revealed that the positioning of the hinges, and not the pivots, was an issue. The lower portion of the hinge was riding against the cowl support, and eventually created witness marks in the paint so it was easier to find. I simply split a short piece of EPDM hose and slipped it over the lower edge of the hinge, tacking in place with contact adhesive. It's now almost dead quiet in the cab.
