I´ve build this some time ago as a present for my sister. She loves 911 and Snoopy, so when I stumbled across this Nascar livery, the target was clear.
In fact I was reminded of it, when I was visiting an Expo and someone was showing a very nice Skyline with this livery.
Taking measures from Tamiyas GT2 showed, that simply taking Nascar decals in 1/24 would not fit at all - much too large. So I recreated all those decals myself with graphics software and tailored them onto the little 911 body.
My model should look somehow like "could have been at Daytona 24h in 1996", so I needed to replace, delete, add a few sponsor and race decals.
Body was painted with Tamiya grey primer, white primer and TS23 light blue.
Roof got a lightly darker mixed TS23 and green on skirts and front spoiler was mixed to match the decals.
Messed up "Andial" and Porsche decal at the front and was happy to get a quick replacement. (Thanks Mike!)
Model was build almost OOB. Just added some rivets for the fenders, PE-parts for buckles and Leukosilk for seatbelt.
In the end a member of my model club provided me with very nice ideas for the base. I somehow combined the ones I liked most and he printed it on foil for me. (Thanks Joachim!)
