if the engine has been using non synthetic engine oil and its burning the conventional oil the blowby crankcase gases do create carbon build up in the TB/intake manifold.. the oil separators do work well ..

if you use synthetic and go 10K miles on oil changes and use less than 1/2 qt of oil during this use , no need for it ..
